New Holland arrived on the SA rock scene in December 2007. Since then their impeccable revel rock has triumphed everywhere they’ve played, bringing with them a wall of devoted fans that now are hankering for more. The four members met when they were in DF Malan Highschool. Gerdus and Reyno played music together. TeeJay and Odendaal experimented with some music of their own. After they matriculated TeeJay and Odendaal  approached Gerdus and Reyno to join them in a band.  Very soon after forming, the opportunity arose to be part of the AVONTOER line up in December 2007. The band had to come up with a name literally overnight. They drove past a New Holland tractor and liked the idea of it. From there, New Holland.

In September 2009 the party loyal was richly rewarded when the band returned, freshly signed to Rhythm Records, with an album that pushed them well beyond their Bellville borders. New Holland launched their debut album 01 in September 2008 supported by a nationwide tour in October. Their first single "Shine" was playlisted on 5FM and reached the Top 30 as well as the Top 10 on various campus radio stations. "Inside Out" was included in the Bellville Rock City compilation. The music video for "Uhuru" reached no 1 on MK Top 10 and the video for "Shine" peaked at number 2 and was selected for screening at the Design Indaba Short Film Exhibition in 2009.

New Holland`s second full length album Exploded Views was  released on 21 September 2009. The first single "Something to Believe In" is currently playlisted on 5FM, Highveld Stereo, KFM and various campus radio stations.
