Ben (VGA) has too much energy. He always had! When tested with Ritalin, the doctor’s said that it’s not hyperactivity, but overstimulation. Ben was always very lazy, and never did his homework, going straight to his room to play loud hip-hop music to the annoyance of the neighbours. He wanted to be a rockstar from a very early age and was incredibly frustrated that he was never allowed to wear his hair long as he attended a public school. He has always had a great talent for music, but could never get along with music teachers who told him what to play and how to play it. On family trips Ben would broadcast the tapes he made of the latest popular songs from the radio on a battery powered hifi, and would fiddle around with the equalizer settings, usually making the bass louder, resulting in the device’s premature death. This was however not the only set of speakers he destroyed, and his father soon banned him from listening to his music on the family entertainment system. He is a multi-talented young man who studied graphic design, composes music for films and has even been in music videos – he is very handsome too! Ben has very good taste in music and when he DJs at clubs around Cape Town, the kids go crazy! When asked what “VGA” means he always replies: I don’t know yet. But I think the “G” is for “Gangster”
