LOGISTICS: hospital Records, UK
With a track record of bringing us stone cold classics throughout his decade-long career, the man otherwise known as Matthew Gresham returns with his fourth artist album “Fear Not”. Logistics’ influence has been picked up by the major DJs in the scene such as Andy C and Friction, and his anthemic creations have contributed greatly to the modern Hospital sound.
SIGMA (Life Recordings / Hospital Records UK):
Cameron Edwards and Joe Lenzie, aka Sigma, have been making their presence felt on the Drum & Bass scene since 2007. From early releases on Charge and Viper Recordings, to the seminal All Blue on DJ Zinc’s Bingo imprint (one of DNBA’s most downloaded tracks ever), the guys stepped up to the big time with serious dancefloor killers Paint It Black and the anthem El Presidente VIP.
With respect gained as producers and highly sought after DJ’s, Sigma have worked to maximise their profile within the realms of D&B and beyond it. Their featured Mini Mix for Annie Mac on Radio 1, in which they squeezed in 45 tracks in five minutes. A plethora of remix work saw Sigma garner more widespread attention. Artists to get the remix treatment include Eric Prydz’s track Niton, grime stalwart Skepta on Rescue Me (up to a million views on You Tube), Ms Dynamite, and Duck Sauce’s colossal hit Barbara Streisand (two million hits on You Tube and counting). In amongst all the production and gigs the guys found time to start their own label, Life Recordings. Debut release El Presidente VIP / Something Special being Nu-Urbans biggest selling single of 2009. That same year they were awarded Best Breakthrough DJ’s at the Drum & Bass Arena awards. Recognition of Cam and Joe’s hard work and a great way to cap off a successful year.
